S. A: FOUR PEOPLE HAVE DIED AFTER A CAR WAS SWEPT AWAY AT AN OVERFLOWING BRIDGE IN THE MAKOTOPONG RIVER NEAR SEBAYENG.(PHOTO).

 Four people have died after a car was swept away at an overflowing bridge in the Makotopong River near Sebayeng. Police recovered the bodies after a blue Renault Kwid carrying five occupants was pulled into the river during heavy water flow on Sunday morning, 8 March 2026. One passenger escaped from the vehicle and alerted police and emergency services. Police say the car was travelling along the Madiga–Makotopong gravel road when it overturned at the flooded bridge and was dragged into the river. The Provincial Search and Rescue team recovered the first body on Sunday. The victim was identified as Lebapa Petrus Mochitele, 27, from Madiga Village. EMS personnel declared him dead at the scene. Search operations resumed on Monday with the SAPS Water Wing Unit, EMS Search and Rescue, the Fire and Rescue Department, and an EMS helicopter. Popular Nollywood actress turn evangelist Eucharia Anunobi comes for the rich and wealthy who don’t know what to do with their money and rather use it to build monumental mansions in their home towns.

Dr Eucharia in her video described it as waste full and frivolous questioning the sanity behind thinking of those who go sink billions of naira into building monumental monstrosities of a home in their hometowns but yet rarely ever stay in those homes visiting them once or twice in a year.

The actress challenged such persons to rather build estates and provide it at subsidies rate for the less privileged to buy rent to live in and use the wealth to help humanity.

Why build monumental monuments as village homes that you don’t live in regularly but visit once or twice a year, and where you may not even retire to , or even if you eventually retire to it , it’s manageability becomes a big problem.

Why don’t you rather invest in building estates and provide affordable housing for humanity
