 Ex-NHIS Boss Accuses Tinubu of Using EFCC to Silence Critics Professor Usman Yusuf, former Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), has accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of deploying the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to suppress dissent, claiming he was treated like a criminal to silence his criticism of the government. The allegations were made during an interview on Sunday, April 27, 2025. Yusuf, who was arraigned by the EFCC in February 2025 on a five-count fraud charge before the Federal Capital Territory High Court, pleaded not guilty. He described his detention as a targeted effort to intimidate him, stating, “This government deliberately denied me bail to shake me up… all to try and silence me. 2023: POLICE INVITES PASTOR AFTER PROPHESYING TINUBU WON'T BE PRESIDENT.(PHOTO).

The Nigeria Police Force has invited Instagram cleric, Prophet Adelana Adekunle Solomon, popularly known as Oba Solomon, for questioning.

“The office is investigating a matter reported to the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2 Police Command, Onikan Lagos,” part of the invitation letter read.

“In order to facilitate investigation, you are requested to report to the office in-charge of Zonal Complaint Response Unit, CSP Olukode Taofiki with GSM No. 08063250810 on 2nd February, 2022 by 1000hrs.”

“If I am a true Prophet of God, Tinubu will not become the President of Nigeria and he becomes the President, he will not spend 4 years before he will die,” the cleric had said in the video.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
