 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. Anambra Police Command Decorates 83 Newly Promoted Officers



Eighty three newly-promoted police officers from the Anambra State Command of the Nigeria Police Force have been decorated with insignias of their new ranks by the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Echeng Echeng.

The decoration which took place at the Force Command, Awka on Tuesday, February 1st, 2022, follows the recent approval for promotion of officers of the force, by the Police Service Commission.

Among the newly-promoted police officers were one Superintendent of Police who was promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police, Fifteen Deputy Superintendent of Police elevated to the rank of Superintendent of Police and Sixty Seven Assistant Superintendent of Police 2 promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Police 1.

Speaking during the event, Mr. Echeng congratulated the beneficiaries on behalf of the Inspector-general of Police Alkali Baba Usman.

CP Echeng urged the newly promoted officers to redouble their efforts towards fighting crimes and exhibiting high professionalism, civility to members of the public and respect for human rights to ensure that live and property of Ndi Anambra are protected.

He added that the promotion is in line with the Inspector-general of Police resolve towards boosting the morale of Police officers for effective service delivery, stating that the promotion comes with greater responsibility, dedication and discipline in their duty post.

Some of the newly promoted Police officers, SP Stephen Ewa, SP Joy Yusuf, ASP Mike Ugwu, appreciated the IGP and the Police Service Commission for finding them worthy of this promotion and also promised to redouble their efforts in discharging their duties pprofessionally.
