 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity. Anambra Police Command Decorates 83 Newly Promoted Officers



Eighty three newly-promoted police officers from the Anambra State Command of the Nigeria Police Force have been decorated with insignias of their new ranks by the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Echeng Echeng.

The decoration which took place at the Force Command, Awka on Tuesday, February 1st, 2022, follows the recent approval for promotion of officers of the force, by the Police Service Commission.

Among the newly-promoted police officers were one Superintendent of Police who was promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police, Fifteen Deputy Superintendent of Police elevated to the rank of Superintendent of Police and Sixty Seven Assistant Superintendent of Police 2 promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Police 1.

Speaking during the event, Mr. Echeng congratulated the beneficiaries on behalf of the Inspector-general of Police Alkali Baba Usman.

CP Echeng urged the newly promoted officers to redouble their efforts towards fighting crimes and exhibiting high professionalism, civility to members of the public and respect for human rights to ensure that live and property of Ndi Anambra are protected.

He added that the promotion is in line with the Inspector-general of Police resolve towards boosting the morale of Police officers for effective service delivery, stating that the promotion comes with greater responsibility, dedication and discipline in their duty post.

Some of the newly promoted Police officers, SP Stephen Ewa, SP Joy Yusuf, ASP Mike Ugwu, appreciated the IGP and the Police Service Commission for finding them worthy of this promotion and also promised to redouble their efforts in discharging their duties pprofessionally.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
