 LASG PRESENTS STAFF OF OFFICE TO NEW ONIȘẸ OF ISE KINGDOM The Lagos State Government has presented the Staff of Office and Instrument of Appointment to Prince Ibrahim Adebowale Saliu, as His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa Oba Ibrahim Adebowale Saliu, the Onise of Ise Kingdom in Lekki Local Government Area. The presentation was performed on Friday, August 21, 2026, by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, alongside the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, Mrs. Kikelomo Bolarinwa, with the approval of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State Executive Council, following the demise of the late Oba Ganiu Adebowale Adegbesan, Onise of Ise Kingdom. Anambra Police Nab Man Who Allegedly Murdered His Girlfriend



Police in Anambra have arrested Ikenna Asiegbu, who allegedly killed his 22 year-old girlfriend in Mgbakwu, Awka North Local government area of Anambra State.

Mrs Ngozi Nwude, who witnessed the crime told neighbours that the man had a violent relationship with the girl. 

According to her, the victim “has been living with the suspect. She is a native of Enugwu - Agidi in Njikoka LGA of the state, but her mother is from Mgbakwu. The boy has the habit of beating her in the past”. 

Other witnesses said that the suspect, Ikenna Asiegbu was allegedly beating the girl when she collapsed and was taken to the hospital where doctors confirmed her dead.

Angry youths in Mgbakwu upon seeing the corpse, descended on the suspect, and beat him to stupor. They tried to set him ablaze before Vigilante operatives arrived and took to their office and contacted the police. 

Anambra police command PRO, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga said:
“The suspect Mr Ikenna Asiegbu, who allegedly murdered 22 year- old Miss Chidimma Christopher at Urutolu village, Mgbakwu has been apprehended and is now in Police Custody.

“We received information that the suspect beat up and murdered the victim in his house at Mgbakwu. The victim was rescued and rushed to the hospital where she was confirmed dead by a medical doctor on duty.
“Meanwhile, the case has been transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation. Further development shall be communicated please”.
