  Former Senate President Bukola Saraki has clarified that he has not taken a position on the ongoing discussions about a potential merger of opposition political parties aimed at challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming general elections. The statement comes amid reports of prominent political figures meeting to explore forming a united front against President Bola Tinubu’s administration. An online report had recently claimed that Saraki, a former Governor of Kwara State, dismissed the idea of joining a mega party to oppose the APC during a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders’ meeting in Ilorin. However, Saraki’s Media Office swiftly refuted the story in a statement signed by Yusuph Olaniyonu, calling it a fabrication and urging the public to disregard it. Ndi Nnewi have come to the aid of Nnewi-born, Anthony Arinzechi, the man who was seen in a viral video sleeping rough on the streets of India.

New photos have surfaced online showing the man in a care facility confirming that truly, help is on the way. According to Mazi Ifeanyi Nwosu; “Our brother, Mr. Anthony Arinzechi whose video went viral last week is currently at WOCKHADT HOSPITAL MUMBAI INDIA for medical treatment which our brother, Hon. Okwuchukwu Okafor, the Chairman of Nzuko Ora Nnewi India is taking care of”. 

Mazi Nwosu also confirmed that Mr. Anthony Arinzechi, “will be home as soon as possible”. 

Continuing, he said that Ndi Nnewi are not soliciting for funds on Arinzechi’s behalf and cautioned the public to “beware of ndi 419”, for according to him, “Nnewi zuru ka emee na nke a”.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
