 Setting the Records Straight on  Citizen Asar Michael Sesugh's  Death The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC,  considered it imperative to clear the air on some recent incidents at its Makurdi Zonal Directorate,  Benue State.   Operatives of the Directorate arrested 26 suspected cyber fraudsters on April 28,  2026.  They were profiled and kept in custody for further investigations after obtaining a Remand Order at a Magistrate Court.  Shortly after their arrest,  specifically on May 4,  2026,  three of the suspects sought permission to use the lavatory at the Directorate's  Holding Facility and were permitted.   They cashed in on the opportunity,  broke the toilet's roof and escaped from detention.  Several efforts were made to re- arrest them to no avail. “If Biafra is achieved today, who's going to lead the Igbos? You don't look for Independence when you are not fully ready for it. It's a process, a gradual process that requires time, finance, and agreement. 

"You don't just wake up and start agitating for Independence, you might get it but it'll take time. Since IPOB and other freedom fighters from the East have been fighting for Biafra, have they gotten it? The question is why? Because the Igbo elites have not come in terms with them and their patterns. 

"Until we agree to seat with them, tell them what we want and they too comply, we can then put heads together to see if it's workable. Aside that, I would advise the leadership of IPOB who are my younger brothers and sisters to calm down so that we can see how Nigeria can be restructured to our own benefits because we are better together in one Nigeria than divided."
