 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable. Pharmacist, Solomon Akuma Detained Over Twitter Comment Against Buhari Spends Second Birthday In Detention 

Solomon Akuma, a pharmacist detained by the Muhammadu Buhari regime, will be spending his second birthday in detention over a Twitter comment.

Akuma turned 30 today (Tuesday, February 1, 2022) but he will not be having fun on his birthday as he is being detained by the Buhari regime.

This would be the second birthday the pharmacist would be celebrating in detention following his arrest in 2020 over the Twitter comment.

Akuma is being prosecuted after his arrest on April 2, 2020, in Abia, Abia State for tweeting that he will "pay a Russian sniper to eliminate (President Muhammadu) Buhari and (Abba) Kyari (Buhari’s former Chief of Staff)" in response to a Twitter post asking "if $1m hits your account, your next move?"
