 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. ANAMBRA MINISTRY OF JUSTICE ORGANIZES SEND-OFF PARTY FOR OUTGOING JUSTICE COMMISSIONER,NWORGU. (PHOTOS).



Members of staff of Anambra State Ministry of Justice have showered encomiums on the outgoing Attorney General of the State and Commissioner for Justice, Dr Mrs. Uju Nworgu for her tremendous contributions to the ministry since inception of office.

Barrister Nworgu accompanied by her husband, Professor Ken Nworgu was applauded and commended at the send-off party organized by the staff and stakeholders of the ministry at the Head of Service Conference Hall, Jerome Udorji Secretariat, Awka.

Dr Nworgu in her remarks, expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love shown to her, thanking members of the ministry for their support and encouragement throughout her tenure. 

She encouraged the members of the ministry to continue their good work and to support her successor.

In an opening remark, the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, Anambra state, Barrister Ngozi Iwunor, said that the Attorney General, a pragmatic and friendly leader, took care of the members of the ministry, while wishing her well in her future endeavors.
 
Barrister Nkiru Mokwe, the head of the Civil Litigation department, thanked her for being a loving and fair administrator who demonstrated good leadership skills during her tenure and brought enormous growth to the ministry, praying for greater exploit in the life of the outgoing Attorney General.

Present during the event were Justice Peace Oti, outgoing Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr C.Don Adinuba, outgoing Commissioner for Economic Planning and Development, Mr Mark Okoye, the former Head of Service, Barrister Harry Uduh, among others.
