APC TO REFUND CANDIDATES WHO ACCEPT CONSENSUS CANDIDATE. (PHOTOS).

APC to refund candidates who accept consensus candidate

The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, says it will refund contenders in the upcoming convention who agree to step down willingly for consensus candidates.

Nasarawa State governor and Chairman, convention publicity Committee, Abdullahi Sule, stated this at a press briefing ahead of the party's national convention in Abuja adding that President Muhammadu Buhari had said in the case of fairness, all those that have agreed on the consensus out of respect for the leadership of the party, should have their money refunded to them.

He noted that President Buhari has met with all major stakeholders of the party including governors, aspirants for chairmanship, and National Assembly all geared towards actualising arrangements for a consensus

Governor Sule, said their first choice is always consensus and they are still pursuing that first choice but as the constitution of Nigeria demands, if it does not work, they will look at the other options.

He, however, refuted claims that some Governors are opposed to the arrangement saying that the leadership of the party, the stakeholders of the party and governors are united hence many things have been going on towards consensus as it remains the best option for a rancour free convention.

According to him, because they are talking about consensus, a unity list will be released once ready to showcase all those who had agreed to the consensus.

The convention planning publicity Chairman, hinted that even though the party may have had skirmishes in the past, they are united and going into the convention united and are poised to continue the good works they have been doing in Nigeria since 2015.
