  Oshiomhole Convinced Us To Make Obaseki Governor – Philip Shaibu Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has disclosed that his choice to support his former boss, Godwin Obaseki, stemmed from his respect for Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Naija News, Shaibu shared his doubts about Obaseki during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program on Tuesday. Shaibu admitted that he lacked confidence in Obaseki's leadership even before they took office on November 12, 2016. He explained that despite his initial hesitations, he ultimately backed Obaseki out of respect and based on the assurances provided by Oshiomhole. He stated, “Obaseki is not a politician. We made him governor because Oshiomhole persuaded us. EFCC Arrests 13 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Enugu
 
Operatives of the Enugu Zonal Command of the EFCC have arrested thirteen ( 13) suspected internet fraudsters at the Nsukka and Emene axes of Enugu State.  
 
They were arrested on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 in a sting operation.  
 
Twelve of the suspects believed to be involved in internet- related offences are: Chinaza Onyekwelu; David Sharon; Igwenagu Chimezie; Nnachi Collins, Noble Nwodo and Okoye Ebuka. Others are: Onaga Divine; Richie Samson; Ugwu Chideru; Victor Sopuluchi, Nwajie Chidubem Eric and Nnamani Chukwuebuka.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
