 Texas man arrested with 75 pounds of marijuana in luggage while flying to London, police say A Texas man was arrested at Miami International Airport after authorities found 75 pounds of marijuana in his luggage before he could board a flight to London. Harrison O’Neill Tiernan, 23, from Austin, was charged with cannabis trafficking. He was traveling to Heathrow Airport and had checked two suitcases for his British Airways flight. Inspectors discovered 65 vacuum-sealed packages containing a green, leafy substance later confirmed to be marijuana. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers stopped Tiernan while he attempted to board the flight, and he acknowledged that the bags were his. Authorities noted the inspections were part of broader efforts at the airport due to high outbound narcotics activity. In total, Tiernan was carrying 34.01 kilograms, or 74.98 pounds, of marijuana. Gov. Abiodun appoints new Accountant General, Solicitor General, 7 Permanent Secretaries

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has approved the appointment of eight new Permanent Secretaries and a new Accountant General for the State.

A statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin said "the new appointees will fill the existing vacancies among the rank of Permanent Secretaries in the State Public Service.

“Seniority, merit, professionalism and inclusiveness are considered in the appointment of the Permanent Secretaries and the Accountant General for the State in the exercise of the Governor’s power under the provision of Section 208 (c) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended)".

The new Permanent Secretaries are:

i. Mr. Waheed Adesina;
ii. Mr. Adetayo Adewale;
iii. Mr. Adedayo Oluyemi Somoye;
iv. Mr. Oluwaseyi Sokoya;
v. Dr Qudus Adegboyega Yusuf;
vi. Mr. Adenopo Adegbenga; and
vii. Dr. Oladeinde Moshood Kayode.

The statement noted that Messrs Adebayo Bamidele and Mr. Aregbesola Thomas Babatunde will function as the State's new Solicitor General and Accountant General respectively. 

While congratulating the new appointees, Governor Abiodun urges them to brace up for the challenges of their positions and apply themselves diligently to the “Building Our Future Together" Agenda of the Administration.
