Marilyn Manson's sexual assault case by former assistant reinstated under new California law A previously dismissed sexual assault case against Marilyn Manson, filed by former assistant Ashley Walters, was revived Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court under a new California law extending the statute of limitations for certain sexual abuse claims. Judge Steve Cochran granted Walters’ motion for reconsideration, vacating his December 2025 ruling that had dismissed the case and allowing it to proceed toward trial. The original suit, first filed in 2021, accused Manson, whose legal name is Brian Warner, of sexual harassment, sexual battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and wrongful termination based on her time working for him in 2010–2011. Previous attempts to move the case forward were blocked because the claims were made years after the alleged incidents, with courts initially ruling that the delayed discovery doctrine did not apply. Gov. Abiodun appoints new Accountant General, Solicitor General, 7 Permanent Secretaries

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has approved the appointment of eight new Permanent Secretaries and a new Accountant General for the State.

A statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin said "the new appointees will fill the existing vacancies among the rank of Permanent Secretaries in the State Public Service.

“Seniority, merit, professionalism and inclusiveness are considered in the appointment of the Permanent Secretaries and the Accountant General for the State in the exercise of the Governor’s power under the provision of Section 208 (c) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended)".

The new Permanent Secretaries are:

i. Mr. Waheed Adesina;
ii. Mr. Adetayo Adewale;
iii. Mr. Adedayo Oluyemi Somoye;
iv. Mr. Oluwaseyi Sokoya;
v. Dr Qudus Adegboyega Yusuf;
vi. Mr. Adenopo Adegbenga; and
vii. Dr. Oladeinde Moshood Kayode.

The statement noted that Messrs Adebayo Bamidele and Mr. Aregbesola Thomas Babatunde will function as the State's new Solicitor General and Accountant General respectively. 

While congratulating the new appointees, Governor Abiodun urges them to brace up for the challenges of their positions and apply themselves diligently to the “Building Our Future Together" Agenda of the Administration.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
