 A Mother's Day Nightmare in Princeton, Illinois. A 3-year-old boy was struck by gunfire as police burst into a barricaded room, ending a frightening hostage situation. Multiple agencies responded to the Hummingbird Mobile Home Park in Princeton, Illinois, on Sunday, May 10th at 2:42 a.m. The initial call went out as a domestic disturbance but officers discovered much worse.  42-year-old, Anthony Rodriguez, had barricaded himself in a room armed with a knife. Anthony had taken several people as hostages, including Aurora Almanza and her 3-year-old son.  Multiple agencies were on the scene, including the Bureau County Sheriff's Office, Illinois State Police and  the Princeton Police Department.  Authorities attempted to negotiate but ultimately rushed the room when they heard screaming coming from inside.  Officials have reported that officers fired shots as they entered the room. Governor Obiano And Wife Ebelechukwu Join Valedictory Holy Mass In Aguleri




Hours after making his final public address to Ndi Anambra, Governor Willie Obiano, and wife, Ebelechukwu have joined a valedictory holy mass, the last activity on the family's schedule before the official end of term of his administration.

The holy mass is presided over by present and past Catholic bishops from all the dioceses in Anambra State, while clergymen from both the Catholic Church and Anglican Communion from within and outside Anambra State, are taking part in the Eucharistic celebration.

Together, the clergymen prayed for the governor and his family, for giving him the right health, energy and vision to sail through his eight-year mandated period, noting that history would always remember Governor Obiano's charisma and pattern of leadership.

They wished him well in his future endeavors, and prayed God to grant him a peaceful and serene life.

Some government officials, family members and friends also took part in the holy mass.

The fifth democratically elected governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano retires today's midnight.
