 New UK Prime Minister not the leader Britain needs — Kemi Badenoch UK Conservative Party leader, Kemi Badenoch, has congratulated Andy Burnham on becoming Britain’s new prime minister but said while he is “a nice man,” the country needs a leader capable of making difficult decisions rather than “a people pleaser.” In a statement released on Monday on X following Burnham’s assumption of office, Badenoch wished the new prime minister success but vowed to hold his government accountable as Leader of the Opposition. “Today, Britain has a new Prime Minister. I wish Andy Burnham every success. Because we need a Prime Minister and a Government focused on fixing the public’s priorities,” she said. POLICE FOIL ATTACK ON DANGOTE REFINERY


-      CP Alabi Emplaces Fortified Security

 

Security operatives in the early hours of yesterday Monday March 28, 2022 foiled an attempted attack on Dangote Refinery, Lekki Free Trade Zone, Lagos.

 

Armed hoodlums numbering about twenty who gained access to the refinery through the lagoon side were repelled while attempting to cart away already-installed armored cables in the refinery.

 

The hoodlums on sighting security operatives fled the scene. One of the hoodlums was hit in the ensuing gunfire and died on the way to the hospital.

 

Investigation has commenced with a view to arresting the fleeing attackers.

 

Meanwhile, on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Abiodun Alabi fdc, minm, psc, security at the refinery has been fortified.
