 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable. PRESIDENT BUHARI CONGRATULATES DR DOYIN OKUPE ON 70TH BIRTHDAY

 
President Muhammadu Buhari sends warm greetings to Dr Doyin Okupe, former Special Assistant to the President, Media, 1999-2001 and Senior Special Assistant to the President, Public Affairs, 2012-2015, joining family and friends to celebrate with the medical doctor, who served the nation in many capacities.

President Buhari notes the worthy contributions of Dr Okupe to the political development of the country, setting out to contest election in the Second Republic at a young age, and working assiduously for the return of the country to full democracy.

The President believes Dr Okupe’s background as a medical doctor and former Managing Director of a private clinic, shaped his penchant for service, bringing a wealth of experience that keeps him active and relevant.

President Buhari prays that the publicist, publisher and democrat will thrive in good health, strength and more wisdom as he turns a septuagenarian.
