 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. PRESIDENT BUHARI CONGRATULATES DR DOYIN OKUPE ON 70TH BIRTHDAY

 
President Muhammadu Buhari sends warm greetings to Dr Doyin Okupe, former Special Assistant to the President, Media, 1999-2001 and Senior Special Assistant to the President, Public Affairs, 2012-2015, joining family and friends to celebrate with the medical doctor, who served the nation in many capacities.

President Buhari notes the worthy contributions of Dr Okupe to the political development of the country, setting out to contest election in the Second Republic at a young age, and working assiduously for the return of the country to full democracy.

The President believes Dr Okupe’s background as a medical doctor and former Managing Director of a private clinic, shaped his penchant for service, bringing a wealth of experience that keeps him active and relevant.

President Buhari prays that the publicist, publisher and democrat will thrive in good health, strength and more wisdom as he turns a septuagenarian.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
