 Guinea-Bissau stops vaccine study funded by Trump administration Guinea-Bissau's foreign minister has said his government has stopped a study funded by the Trump administration aiming to evaluate side effects of the life-saving hepatitis B vaccine, including any links to autism. The West African country, one of the region's poorest, has high rates of hepatitis B, and the prospective study had drawn an outcry from scientists and international health bodies because only half the newborns in the trial would get the vaccine at birth. World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus said it was not ethical. Guinea-Bissau last month suspended the trial pending an ethical review. Critics had said it was being used to test theories linking vaccines to autism, long promoted by U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr but contradicted by scientific evidence. RESIDENTS REJOICE AS GOV. SOLUDO VISITS MAIN MARKET,FEGGE,BIDA ROAD ONITSHA.(PHOTOS).

Onitsha residents were full of joy as the Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo made a tour of some critical areas within Onitsha metropolis.

Governor Soludo after touring Okpoko stormed Onitsha, visiting Ngene Canal, Creek road, Fegge, Bida Road and Main Market where he addressed the residents and traders.

On sighting the Governor, the people began jubilation.

Speaking to the ABS, Mr Timothy Adiele expressed great optimism that Governor Soludo will put smile on the faces of the poor masses.

He encouraged the Governor to sustain the tempo, noting that Ndi Anambra will support him.

For another resident, Mr Obinna Udemezue, the Governor's early moves is in line with the expectations Ndị Anambra had of him which made them to give him massive support during the election irrespective of the security challenges.

He called on Ndi Anambra to understand the genuine intentions of the Governor and support him to achieve his mission for the good of the people.

They both commended the Governor for a good start while expressing a special joy over the ban on illegal revenue collection in the state.

Governor Soludo while addressing them at different points emphasized the need for them to do their bid while showing great determination and political will to deliver the dividends of democracy to Ndi Anambra.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
