 Three sisters seize c0rpse of their late brother for 5 years while denying his bêreaved wife and s0n access to his properties. Three sisters have allegedly seized and refused to release the c0rpse of their late brother, one Mr. Ernest, to his wife and children, for five years. The incident happened in Nibo, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State, where the sisters and their läte brother are from. The sisters, who operate a prayer ministry, also seized the entire properties of their late brother and denied the wife and children access to them since 2019 when the deceased d!ed after a protracted illness caused by accident. The case was presented at the State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare in Awka for government’s intervention. Speaking, the wife and the only surviving son of the deceased said they were also denied access to him when he was still alive and crit!cally ill, as the sisters allegedly took him away to the area where they have their prayer centre. Umueri Monarch, Emeka Decry's EFCC's Treatment Of Former Governor Obiano




The traditional ruler of Umueri Community, Anambra East Council Area, Igwe Ben Emeka has called on Journalists to, as the mouth pieces of the society, call attention to the abuse of the fundamental human rights of the immediate past Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. 

Igwe Emeka made this call at his palace when he received the executive members of the Nigerian Union Of Journalists, Anambra State Council. 

The delegation was led by the Chairman of the Council, Dr Odogwu Emeka Odogwu.

Igwe Emeka asked the members of the association to use their various media organs to raise concerns against what he described as the "victimization and humiliation" of the former Governor. 

Igwe Emeka stated that Governor Obiano performed excellently well while in office and does not deserve such illtreatment.

The royal father regretted that the EFCC should have sent an invitation to Chief Obiano than choosing to embarrass him the way they are doing.

Earlier in his speech, the State Chairman Of NUJ, Dr Odogwu condemned the continuous detention of the former governor by the EFCC, saying that it was wrong under the constitution to detain anyone beyond 48 hours without charging such person to Court. 

In her remarks, the State Vice Chairman of NUJ, Comrade Ngozi Obileri extolled Igwe Emeka for being gender sensitive in the appointment of his cabinet. 

Also lending his voice, the President General Of Umueri, Mr Johnny Metchie thanked the NUJ for their visit, noting that Umueri is a community known for peace and hospitality, asking the media to endeavor to be factual, objective and truthful while carrying out their rreportage.
