 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. GOV. AUF APPROVES 1.3 PENSION PAYMENT

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Monday received the Fali and Mayo Bani communities of Mubi North local government area of Adamawa State on a solidarity to the Yola Government House.

During the visit, the Governor annoinced the release of the sum of 1.3 billion to settle Pension and gratuities of retired civil servants. 

He added that the Approval of feeder road construction from Mararraban Baza to Betso in Mubi North has also been approved to be executed through the Rural Access and Mobility Projects (RAMP).

He said his government will live no stone unturned towards protecting the lives and property of the citizenry reassuring the people of his administration's commitment to take Adamawa to greater heights. 

Earlier, in their separate contributions the Chairman Fali/Mayobani elders forum, Yarima Pius Shigri and Mr Gobi Waba thanked Governor Fintiri for the projects executed in Mubi local government area and for appointing Sons and daughters of the area in his government. 

They equally congratulated him for making his intention known to run for another term in office, promising to support his bid to return in 2023.
"We are ready to support you to continue the infrastructural and urban renewal development, employment, payment of gratuities and pension, WAEC, NECO among others".
