LagFerry Boat Catches Fire on Lagos Waterways, Passengers Injured A LagFerry boat, Igbega Eko, caught fire while en route to Victoria Island, injuring four passengers. The incident occurred at around 6:45 AM at Ipakodo Ferry Terminal, Ikorodu. Passengers scrambled for safety as the boat suddenly exploded and caught fire. The National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) and Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) responded swiftly. LASWA confirmed that the fire was quickly contained, with four passengers sustaining minor injuries and receiving medical attention. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. LASWA assured the public that safety measures are in place, and ferry operations continue as scheduled. Watch video below.

APC To Hold First Post-Convention NEC Meeting


The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee (NWC), says its first post-National Convention meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) will be held on Wednesday, 20th April, 2022. 

The emergency NEC meeting which is expected to hold at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja will commence at 10am. 

"Pursuant to Article 25.2.ii of the Constitution of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the National Working Committee (NWC) is therefore, inviting members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Party to a meeting to consider the Partyā€™s Timetable/Schedule of Activities for Primaries for the nomination of candidates for the 2023 General Elections and other relevant business of the Party."

A statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Barrister Felix Morka, said all members of the NEC should take note of the meeting in accordance with Article 12.3 of the APC Constitution.
