 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. Governor Soludo Promises To Build Road Linking Ayamelum To The State Capital As
Speaker Okafor Marks 45th Birthday Anniversary 




The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has assured that the Omor to Oba-Ofemmili road will be flagged off soon.

Governor Soludo gave the assurance while felicitating with the Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche Okafor on his forty-fifth birthday celebration.

According to the Governor, the road is important as it will link Awka with Ayamelum local government area, a major agrarian area in the state.

Governor Soludo used the opportunity to thank ndi Ayamelum for the vote they gave the party in the last gubernatorial election, saying that part of his dream for the state is to ensure massive promotion of made in Anambra products across the state and beyond.

While stating that the massive support of the constituents shows that the Speaker is properly utilizing the constituency funds and he reiterated that Anambra is in the hands of God, praying God to perfect it his plans for the state.

Speaker Okafor also used the ocassion to appreciate the people of Ayamelum for their support in the last election.

His constituents were empowered with toyota salon cars, motorcycles, sewing machines, fumigation materials, fertiliser and cash, among others.

Speaker Okafor recalled that every of his birthday is usually celebrated in Ayamelum, pointing out that the items were procured from the constituency products.

The Speaker urged ndi Ayamelum to keep praying for the Governor to succeed in his administration.
