 North to Decide 2027 Presidential Election in Six Months, Says Hakeem Baba-Ahmed Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, former Special Adviser on Political Matters to President Bola Tinubu, has declared that the northern region will determine its stance on the 2027 presidential election within the next six months. Speaking in a Hausa-language interview alongside Professor Usman Yusuf, former Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme, Baba-Ahmed emphasized the North’s pivotal role in Nigerian politics, stating, “No one becomes Nigeria’s president without the North.” Baba-Ahmed asserted that the region is seeking a government capable of addressing its pressing challenges. Reflecting on the eight-year tenure of former President Muhammadu Buhari and the current administration, he expressed frustration over the North’s persistent struggles. “After Buhari, we became wiser. GOVERNOR BUNI ASSENTED 3 BILLS INTO LAW

 His Excellency the Executive Governor of Yobe State Hon. Mai Mala Buni has assented to the following Bills for the speady administration of justice, address the problem of violence against persons and the protection of children. The assented laws are:.  

 1. A bill for a law to establish the Yobe State Justice Reform Team to coordinate the various Justice Institutions and other matters thereto.    

  2. A bill for a law to prohibit all forms of violence against persons in private and public life and to provide maximum protection and effective Remedies for victims and punishment of offenders and other related matters.  
  
3. A bill for a law to provide for the protection of children in Yobe State and other related matters thereto.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
