OVER 25 MILLION PHONES STOLEN IN ONE YEAR- FG. (PHOTO).

 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. *MAIDEN GENERAL MEETING - EJIGBO LAWYERS' FORUM(ELF)* 
 *THURSDAY, 24TH* *MARCH, 2022* 

The maiden general meeting of Ejigbo Lawyers' Forum was held on 24th March, 2022.
Venue: Ejigbo Town Hall,Ejigbo,Lagos State.
Time:3pm

 *ATTENDANCE* :

The meeting started at about 3:52pm with a recitation of the National Anthem.
1. Opening Prayer: By Mrs. Azeezat.

 *2. Introduction of* *Attendees* :
A. The protem Chairman-Mr. Adekunle Adeniyi respectfully introduced himself.The summary of his self introduction, showed amongst others mentioned, that he is a Fellow of Institute of  Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and also a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Taxation and has an MBA from Lagos State University. He obtained his first and second degrees in Law from the prestigious UniLag. He was Called to the Nigerian Bar in 2007. He is the Principal Partner at Towoloba Adeniyi Chambers, Ilupeju, Lagos.
He expressed his delight to serve the body as best he could.Happily married with children.

B.Mr. Raphael S.Ezeoke is the protem Secretary General of ELF. He had his LLB at Nnamdi Azikiwe University,Awka, Anambra State having earlier obtained an HND-Distinction in Business Administration and Management from Federal Polytechnic,OKO in 2001.He has nearly a decade experience in Banking, having worked in several commercial banks in Nigeria spanning from operations to business development, to customer service and then to Loan recovery before becoming an Internal Controller.  He is  currently on the queue to obtain his LLM degree. Mr. Ezeoke already has an MBA from Ambrose Alli University,Ekpoma, Edo State in 2011. 
He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Mediation and Conciliation(ICMC) 
He was Called to the Nigerian Bar in November, 2019. Member of Surulere Lawyers' Forum and Lagos NBA Branch.
He is the Principal Partner -Primum Sapientis Lex Attorneys and Solicitors, Ejigbo, Lagos. He is happily married with children. He also expressed his willingness to put his best in achieving the goals of the ELF.

C. Mrs. Azeezat Omolara Oladejo: She has in many ways expressed her earnest desire to see ELF become a branch in the nearest future. She promptly invested a lot of her time, energy and resources in this very beginning. She is a priceless asset to YSG Campbell & Co where she is an Associate. She was Called to the Nigerian Bar in 2015.

D. Mr. Awa Okere is the effective Principal Partner at Awa Okere & Co. He was Called to the Nigerian Bar in 2010. He is an Associate of Nigerian Institute of Strategic Management.
He is happy to identify with the new organization.

E. Mr. Basil Egbukichi. A renowned Lawyer, Called to the Nigerian Bar in December 1993. He is the Principal Partner -BetDaniels & Partners, Ejigbo, Lagos. He is also the incumbent Second Vice-Chairman of Surulere Lawyers' Forum and member of Ikeja NBA Branch. Happily married with children.
F. Mr. Stanley Onuorah: The record shows he was effectively Called to the Nigerian Bar in 1991. He is the Principal Partner at Stanley Onuorah &Co in Aguda, Surulere. He is also an ardent proponent of Real Estate business. Member of Surulere Lawyers' Forum and Ikeja NBA Branch.

G. Orjiewulu Blessing: She is studious lawyer, Called to the Nigerian Bar in 2016 and an Associate of BetDaniels & Partners. She has a flair for property management.

H. Mr. Samuel Okoye, a very bright lawyer and the effective Principal Partner at Sam Okoye & Co at Ajao Estate, Lagos.

 *PROTEM CHAIRMAN'S OPENING REMARK:* 
The Chairman thanked all attendees for finding time in their busy schedules to attend the maiden meeting. He assured all, that he will put in his best to move the body forward and solicited and encouraged members to give their ideas freely to move the nascent body forward. He noted that the current members present are the founding members and should do their best to achieve and  promote the objectives of the body. He particularly thanked Mrs. Azeezat for efforts expended so far in bringing about the maiden meeting. The Chair, also mentioned that, being a good friend to the incumbent Ejigbo Local Government boss, he will leverage on that to get necessary support from the Council.
 *ANY OTHER BUSINESS.* 
In addition to the above remark by the Chair, Mr. Egbukichi, in contributing to way forward for the new body, encouraged all and said that all members, especially the leadership should not be ashamed to mix up with anyone who is a potential source of help to the body. He advised that welfarism is key at this initial stage. He is hopeful the organization will meet her objectives. Mr. Stanley Onuorah aligned his argument accordingly to Mr. Egbukichi's and also spoke extensively on the need to be committed and also borrow a leaf from similar bodies who have gone through same struggle like the Surulere Lawyers' Forum. He noted the need for welfarism and group bonding emphatically.
Mr. Ezeoke shared the same views and noted as well, that , it is only unwavering commitment that will help bring the objectives to fruition.
The Chair, noted, that all opinions will be used in driving the body forward.
 *MEETING DAYS AND TIME* 
It was agreed that ELF monthly meetings shall be held on Last Wednesdays of every month.
 *VENUE* : Ejigbo Magistrate Court shall serve as the meeting venue. Accordingly, leave shall be gotten from the Chief Magistrate.
 *TIME* :3pm prompt.
 *MOTION FOR* *ADJOURNMENT* : This was moved at about 5:15pm by Mr. Egbukichi Basil and same was supported by Mrs. Orjiewulu Blessing.
 *CLOSING PRAYER* : This was said by Mrs. Orjiwulu Blessing at about 5:17pm.
