 Legendary actor Manoj Kumar dies at 87: ‘Roti Kapada Aur Makaan’ director breathes his last in Mumbai Manoj Kumar, the Bollywood actor and filmmaker, renowned for his patriotic films, passed away at the age of 87 at Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. The cause of his death was identified as cardiogenic shock due to acute myocardial infarction, according to medical reports. The medical reports confirmed that apart from a severe heart attack that took away his life, Manoj had been battling decompensated liver cirrhosis for the past few months, ANI reported. Following deteriorating health condition, he was admitted to the hospital on February 21, 2025. Popularly known as ‘Bharat Kumar,’ Manoj Kumar was an exceptional director and actor who was honoured with National Film Award. 2023: I Will Only Serve One Term - Atiku To South East Leaders

Former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, in his consultations with South East Leaders, ahead of this weekend’s PDP Presidential Primaries, has reportedly said that he will only serve one term.

In his meetings with National Delegates and Leaders from the party on early Friday morning, the former Vice-President stated that he will only serve one term if elected Nigeria’s President in 2023, highlighting the fact that he was committed to an Igbo Presidency.

“The former Vice-President spoke like a true statesman. He understands that for there to be unity in the country, we need to include the South East in all political considerations. This is why we are proud that with our support, we can achieve an Igbo Presidency by 2027,” a high-ranking PDP Chieftain said.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
