 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. 30 YEAR OLD WIDOW ARRESTED FOR SELLING HARD DRUGS IN KANO.(PHOTO).



A 30-year-old widow, identified as Jamila Abdullahi, has been arrested by the police in Kano State for allegedly dealing in illicit dr#gs. 

It was gathered that the suspect was arrested along Kwanar Ungogo area on Saturday, April 30, 2022 with 35 tubes of Rubber Solution.

According to the command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, this comes a month after she was first arrested and later released after signing an an undertaking not to involve in such an act again.

Speaking in a statement on Monday, May 2, Haruna said, “She was invited on the 30/03/2022 at about 1200hrs and in front of her relatives and their ward head, she signed an undertaking not to involve in such an act again.

However, on the 30/04/2022 at about 1000hrs, a team of Operation Puff Adder led by DPO Ungogo Division while on surveillance patrol along Kwanar Ungogo area, intercepted the said Jamila, in possession of thirty-five (35) tubes of Rubber Solution

Credible information received revealed she is the major dealer of Rubber Solution that is used for intoxication in Ungogo LGA and environs.

On investigation, Jamila confessed that she is a widow, and she has been in the business of buying and selling Rubber Solution for over two years. After her first invitation she stopped, but later continue selling the robber solution.

She further confessed that she used to buy the intoxicants from someone. Having learned about her suspected arrest, the person was said to have escaped and left the country.”
