 RE: MISLEADING CLAIMS REGARDING EXTORTION OF MOTORISTS BY LAGOS STATE TASKFORCE – YET-TO-BE-IDENTIFIED SECURITY OPERATIVES: ANOTHER CASE OF MISTAKEN IDENTITY The Lagos State Taskforce wishes to address a misleading narrative circulating on social media, particularly in a viral video shared by protesters and concerned groups who recently demonstrated at the Lagos State House of Assembly. The protest was in response to the alleged extortion of motorists by security operatives, yet to be identified, who are not officials of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit. We categorically state that the Lagos State Taskforce had no involvement in the said incident. FAMILY OF FIVE FOUND DEAD IN THEIR APARTMENT IN LAGOS



A businessman identified as Lawrence Olorungbon, his wife, and three children have been found dead in their apartment in Apapa area of Lagos.

The state Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, has begun an investigation as to unravel the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident and the cause of death of the victims.

The deceased and his family were found dead after his secretary who couldn't reach him on the phone, visited his home to ascertain why he was incommunicado. She knocked severally on the door but there was no response. The secretary said an offensive odour pervaded the air and that there were flies buzzing around. She immediately alerted policemen at the Apapa division who visited the scene and forced the entrance door open, to behold the bodies in their decomposing state.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said an autopsy is being conducted to ascertain the cause of death.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
