  The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has dismissed a viral claim circulating on social media about the introduction of new ₦5,000 and ₦10,000 banknotes, labeling it as fake news. The claim, which included fabricated images of the supposed new denominations featuring Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Chief Obafemi Awolowo, falsely stated that the new notes would enter circulation from May 1, 2025. In a statement on its verified Facebook account, the CBN clarified that the content is not from the bank and directed the public to its official website, (www.cbn.gov.ng), for authentic information. The bank warned against spreading misinformation regarding monetary policies and urged Nigerians to rely only on official statements from its verified channels. The CBN reaffirmed that any major policy decision, including the introduction of new banknotes, would be announced through its official platforms. FRIENDS DEMAND JUSTICE FOR A DOMESTIC ABUSE VICTIM WHO WAS KILLED AFTER SHE DECIDED TO LEAVE HER ALLEGEDLY TOXIC EX




Friends are demanding justice for a South African woman who was killed while trying to leave her allegedly abusive boyfriend.

Singwa Namhla Mtwa, 34, suffered abuse for years in the hands of her long term boyfriend Major Mfesane Bhekezu, friends say.

In one incident, she was allegedly beaten by her boyfriend with a leather belt for 8 hours.

She decided to leave the toxic relationship but was shot 9 times in the driveway at her home, in April 21, 2022.

South African Twitter users are now demanding justice for the deceased.

Though her boyfriend has not been charged for her murder, Twitter users suggest he might have a hand in her death but they alleged no one wants to do anything about it because he is "untouchable" and a very connected businessman.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
