 Sudan war: Hundreds of civilians displaced in latest South Kordofan's violence A total of 570 civilians were displaced from Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan, over a three-day period due to deteriorating security conditions, the UN International Organization for Migration (IOM) said. The organisation said in a statement that its tracking teams recorded the displacement of 570 people from Kadugli between 8 and 10 January, as insecurity escalated in the city. The displaced families headed toward areas in White Nile State, southern Sudan. The situation in Kadugli remains “tense and volatile,” the agency said, adding that its teams are continuing to closely monitor developments on the ground. Soludo Recieves Senator Ekwunife, Affirms Commitment To Strategic Partnerships



Governor Chukwuma Soludo has called for strategic collaborative efforts by Ndi Anambra, irrespective of party affiliation, religious inclination or social stratification to enthroning the liveable and prosperous homeland.

Governor Soludo was speaking when the Senator representing Anambra Central, Uche Ekwunife paid a courtesy call on him at the Government House, Awka.

Senator Ekwunife was accompanied by some stakeholders from Anambra Central including Traditional Rulers, Presidents General, among others.

Professor Soludo who harped on his philosophy of "one state, one people, one agenda", said that strategic and special partnerships with the federal government, international community, NGOs, captains of industry as well as ordinary citizens is needed to move Anambra forward.

While calling on those representing the state at the National Assembly to bring back their best to the state as the 2023 budget circle draws near, Governor Soludo stressed that as the election approaches, sterling, quality representation at the Center is needed to maximize and leverage on the positive potential of Ndi Anambra.

The Governor described Senator Ekwunife as an amazon, stating that she had always shown solidarity and support in several ways as a true daughter of the soil, pointing out that the challenge of insecurity is critical. 

Earlier, Senator Ekwunife noted that the visit was to congtatulate the Governor on his historic victory in the last governorship election, saying that he fits rightly with the competence and knowledge to ensure good governance.

The Senator maintained that her visit was not as a member of a political party but as a representative at the center, commended the Governor for the recently presented revised budget which she described as fitting into the Professor Soludo personality.

While stating the readiness of Anambra Central to partner with him to ensure delivery of democracy dividends to Ndi Anambra, Senator Ekwunife applauded the Governor's interest in critical infrastructure and youth empowerment.

Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche Okafor, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, among others, recieved the Senator and her entourage.
