 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. Soludo's Aide, Omenugha, Declares Free Fuel For Keke And Okada Riders As He Marks His 32nd Birthday Anniversary 



In commemoration of his 32nd birthday anniversary, the Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Youth Empowerment Programme, Dr Nelson Omenugha has reached out to over 100 Keke and Okada riders providing them with free PMS to encourage their business.

Hosting the keke and okada riders in his country home, Nnobi, Idemili South local government area, Dr Omenugha encouraged them to remain supportive of the government by promoting peace and security in Anambra.

He assured them that government has great plans for Anambra youths and urged them to be part of the transformation ongoing in Anambra State.

The Governor's aids who is also the convener Youths Earnestly Support Soludo, YESS, said that the Okada and Keke riders whose greater percentage are youths are vital to the new Anambra project and encouraged them to engage themselves meaningfully by learning additional skill.

He also hosted some visually impaired persons and party stakeholders as part of the activities to mark the special day.

Cutting of birthday cake and distribution of fuel to the keke and okada riders climaxed the event as the keke and okada riders sang birthday songs for Dr Omenugha.
