 Aguiyi Orders Investigation into Trans Nkisi Mining Site Over Environmental Compliance By Amaka Isikala The Anambra State Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Clem Aguiyi, has ordered an investigation into the environmental compliance status of a mining site at Trans Nkisi, Onitsha, following concerns over extensive land degradation and its possible contribution to the growing gully erosion threatening the community. The directive followed an inspection visit to the site on August 1, during which the commissioner was accompanied by leaders of the Trans Nkisi community. The visit formed part of the ministry's ongoing assessment of environmentally sensitive locations across the state in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's Fifth Pillar of Development, Environment and Urban Regeneration. JONATHAN IN COMO,ITALY AS APC SCREENING STARTS.(PHOTOS).

Former president, Goodluck Jonathan, has revealed that he’s in Como, Italy for a meeting of the European Corporate Council on Africa and the Middle East International Advisory Board.

Jonathan was appointed into the Council earlier this month.
Sharing photos from the meeting, Jonathan said, “Great time today in Como, Italy, at the meeting of Ecam Council International Advisory Board where members held a preparatory session ahead of this year's Council Summit. -GEJ”

As the ruling All Progressives Congress screens its presidential aspirants on Monday, it had been speculated that Jonathan will be among those who would be screened.

European Corporate Council on Africa and the Middle East, also known as the ECAM Council is a non-profit organisation established with the purpose of promoting and developing relations between the countries of Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the North Africa region.
