 EFCC Arraigns Austrian For Undeclared $800,585, €651,505 At Lagos Airport The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal Directorate 2, Okotie Eboh, Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday, January 9, 2026, arraigned one  Kavlak Onal, an Austrian national arrested by the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, for allegedly failing to declare the sums of $800,575 and €651,505 in his possession. He was arraigned before Justice Yelim Bogoro of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi , Lagos.  Onal who was scheduled to travel on Emirates Airline to Dubai, was on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 intercepted  during a routine check at the AML/ CFT Currency Declaration Desk at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.

JUBILATION AS AIRCRAFTS LANDED IN YOBE AIRPORT FOR THE FIRST TIME.(PHOTOS).

Jubilation in Yobe as for the first time aircrafts landed in the state's airport. 

The new cargo international airport in Damaturu constructed by Gov Mai Mala Buni administration can also be used for conventional airport purpose. 

Before this multi billion Naira project, Yobe used to be the only state in the Northeast without airport, neither federal nor state owned. 

The cargo international airport in Damaturu is the second cargo airport in Northern Nigeria after that of Lafia. 

The different aircrafts landed as 'test landing.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
