 South Africa says US misrepresented its policies after visa curbs South Africa's foreign ministry said on Wednesday that it ‌had noted with concern U.S. visa restrictions on some people from South Africa announced by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio a day earlier. The foreign ministry added in a statement that ⁠the U.S. announcement aligned with "the mischaracterisation of South Africa's domestic policies by fringe groups". "We maintain that challenges in our bilateral relations with the USA can only be resolved by constructive engagement through state actors on both sides of the diplomatic channel not unilateral acts," the statement said, Reuters reported. Trump has repeatedly criticized ‌South ⁠Africa since the start of his second term for what he falsely claims is the racial persecution of its white minority, citing affirmative action laws aimed at ⁠addressing the inequality that has persisted since apartheid. LASBCA DEMOLISHES SEVEN DISTRESSED BUILDINGS IN MUSHIN


No fewer than seven distressed buildings in the Mushin area of the State have been demolished by the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) to avoid an imminent collapse that would have claimed several innocent lives and destroyed property worth millions of Naira.

The seven distressed buildings located at Abiodun Wright Street, Itire Road and Gbadamosi Iginla Street in Mushin were pulled down by officials of LASBCA as a proactive step to save residents. 

Speaking during the demolition of the distressed buildings on Thursday, the General Manager of LASBCA, Arc. Gbolahan Oki, lamented the level of disregard for vacation notices issued by the agency on different occasions to occupants of the buildings and others in different parts of the State.
