 Nigerian Association for Family Development releases communique on 18 biennial conference held in Awka By Chris Chikelue The Nigerian Association For Family Development (NAFAD) has made public the communique made at the 18th Biennial conference  themed: 'Marriage as a Vocation- Flourishing Despite Modern Challenges'. The communique which was issued on March 30, 2025 at the Bishop AK Obiefuna  Retreat and Pastoral Centre, Okpunor, Awka, Anambra State was signed by NAFAD National President, Mr. Uche Okpala and its National Secretary,  Mrs Tayo Akinyede. It was a gathering that brought together couples, relationship experts, and singles to explore practical ways to strengthen marriages and address contemporary relationship challenges. According to the communique the event emphasized that marriage is a sacred vocation—a call to total self-giving, sacrifice, and shared purpose in building resilient families. Osun PDP Primaries: Mob Destroys, Sets Ablaze Adeleke’s  Billboards 

The People’s Democratic Party’s Primary Election in Osun State has taken a violent turn as Senator Ademola Adeleke’s campaign billboards have been set ablaze in Ejigbo Local Government Area.
Naija News gathered that a mob was seen smashing and tearing down billboards in several parts of the town.

Senator Ademola Adeleke is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate for the Osun 2022 election.

The cause of the violent action was unknown at the time of filing this report, however, it is believed to be related to the just concluded Osun PDP primaries for the Osun State House of Assembly and House of Representatives elections.

According to sources, the mob action may have been sparked by supporters of popular candidates who lost in the primaries.

After the election, there have been feelings of betrayal among some of the aspirants who are seeking to return to their elective positions but felt left out by Senator Ademola Adeleke.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
