 Legendary actor Manoj Kumar dies at 87: ‘Roti Kapada Aur Makaan’ director breathes his last in Mumbai Manoj Kumar, the Bollywood actor and filmmaker, renowned for his patriotic films, passed away at the age of 87 at Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. The cause of his death was identified as cardiogenic shock due to acute myocardial infarction, according to medical reports. The medical reports confirmed that apart from a severe heart attack that took away his life, Manoj had been battling decompensated liver cirrhosis for the past few months, ANI reported. Following deteriorating health condition, he was admitted to the hospital on February 21, 2025. Popularly known as ‘Bharat Kumar,’ Manoj Kumar was an exceptional director and actor who was honoured with National Film Award. RE: GROUP PETITION ARMY COMMANDER OVER UNLAWFUL DETENTION OF CIVILIAN ACCUSED OF SELLING IPOB BOOTS, CALLS FOR PROBE


The Headquarters 81 Division Nigerian Army (NA) has been notified of an online publication making the rounds on the social media, that the Rule of Law and Accountability Advocacy Centre (RULAAC) petitioned the General Officer Commanding 81 Division NA, over the detention of a civilian named Jude Eze at Dodan Barracks, Lagos.

In setting the records straight, it would be recalled that 81 Division recently arrested several impostors posing as military personnel, who were paraded before the media and subsequently handed over to the Nigeria Police for further necessary action. Preliminary investigations conducted on the impostors revealed that most of them acquired their military accoutrements from illegal vendors within Lagos. This finding, necessitated a raid on illegal vendors of military accoutrements in Lagos, leading to the arrest of several culprits. 

Currently, investigation into their activities is ongoing to obtain more intelligence and unravel some suspicions about their activities and networks, both within and outside Nigeria, since it is a matter that touches on breach of national security. 

The Division wishes to state that as soon as the investigation is concluded the suspect would be handed over to the appropriate security agency for further action. 

Members of the general public should be rest assured that the Division will continue to respect and protect the rights of citizens as enshrined in the constitution.

 The Division enjoins members of the public to continue to support her operations with credible information on observed illicit activities and crimes being perpetrated by persons in military uniform, to rid Lagos and Ogun States of criminal elements using military uniform as cover.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
