    A Kentucky teacher was arrested yesterday after investigators found evidence of an "intimate relationship" she had with a student. A student she attempted to coerce to take her husband's life. During a March 27th search of a living unit at Adair County Juvenile Detention Center, guards uncovered some alarming contraband.  While searching the quarters of a detained juvenile, staff uncovered explicit letters and materials including personal "intimate" photos.  These explicit letters and photographs were given to the minor by 27-year-old, Elena Bardin. Evidence also indicated Bardin was having sexual contact with the minor.  Bardin was working as a teacher assigned to Adair County Juvenile Detention. STATEMENT ON THE CALL BY “NORTHERN ELDERS FORUM” ASKING A SECTION OF THE COUNTRY TO LEAVE THE FEDERATION.


We are aware of the latest statement from the so-called “Northern Elders Forum”.

We wish to reassure Nigerians that it remains their democratically elected leadership which takes the decisions that steer our nation – and no one else.

No self-appointed and unelected group can take this right from Nigerians – no matter how much coverage they might enjoy in the media. Nigerians listen to elected leaders, not opinionated tin-gods who have no traction with any responsible group.

It is a delusional arrogance that would lead such a group to publicly state terms and conditions for the existence of our nation.

Who gave them the right to ask for the exclusion, or expulsion of any one, group or section of the country from the Federal Republic of Nigeria?

The Nigerian government does not take guidance nor invitations from such groups – only from the Nigerian people who put governments in office.

Any group can refer to themselves as “leaders”, but in Nigeria, if you have not been elected by Nigerians to a leadership role, then you are not – and the government certainly doesn’t recognise you as such.

Like many other countries around the world, Nigeria is feeling the strain of the current period of volatility and uncertainty. Now is not the time to seek to exacerbate divisions amongst Nigerians. Rather, we call on all Nigerians to come together and work to overcome the challenges we face as one nation, one people.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
