 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity. 18-YEAR OLD ALLEGEDLY MURDERED A 36-YEAR-OLD WOMAN AND HER BABY IN ADAMAWA.(PHOTO).

The Adamawa State Police Command on Monday, June 6, apprehended an 18-year-old suspect for the alleged brutal murder of a 36-year-old woman, Talatu Alh. Usman, and her one-year-old child in Lamurde Local Government Area.

The spokesperson of the command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, in a statement released, said both the suspect Volamu Kalbes and the victims are residents of Sabon Layi village in Lamurde LGA.

The suspect allegedly attacked the victim by the riverside where she went to take her bath alongside her child.

''The Victim was said to have resisted an attempt by the suspect to r@pe her but to no avail, as he overpowered her as a result of which he subdued and pressed her down into the water where she d!ed.

As this was not enough, the Suspect took the child who was crying uncontrollably on the river bank and pressed him into the water until he became l!feless.

On the strength of that, the Suspect was arrested by the command operatives attached to Lamurde Divisional Police Headquarters, following a report received by the victim's husband, Alh. Usman Abdul who is currently bereaved over the lost of his wife and child.''the statement read

Nguroje said the state commissioner of Police, CP SK Akande, having directed for a more discreet investigation into the matter; however, ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of SCID to take over the investigation.  He equally called on the members of the public to desist from all criminal acts as the police will not relent in bringing to b

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
