 PROTEST ERUPTS IN OTUKPO OVER INCESSANT KILLINGS,  KIDNAPPINGS  April 1, 2025 Angry residents of Otukpo, Benue State, have taken to the streets in protest against the rising cases of killings and kidnappings in the area. Reports have it that the demonstrators, chanting “We no go gree!” blocked major roads, demanding urgent action from the government and security agencies to address the growing insecurity. One of the protesters, who identified himself as Daniel Oche, lamented the frequent attacks, describing them as a “constant recurrence.” He also made a shocking revelation, alleging that electricity is always cut off in the community before each attack. “This has been happening again and again. We are not safe in our own homes. And have you noticed? NEPA (JEDC) always takes light before every operation. It’s like they don’t want us to see what’s coming,” he said. APC Presidential Primary Delegate Slumps, Dies In Abuja

Adelegate at the presidential primary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from Jigawa State, Isah Baba-Buji, has slumped and died.
 
Baba-Buji reportedly died on Tuesday while taking his breakfast in Abuja.

The APC spokesperson in Jigawa, Bashir Kundu, confirmed the incident to journalists.
 
He said the official was pronounced dead while taking his breakfast and preparing to move to the venue of the party convention.
 
Kundu said Baba-Buji’s body was being prepared to be conveyed back to Jigawa State for burial rites.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
