 Nigerian Association for Family Development releases communique on 18 biennial conference held in Awka By Chris Chikelue The Nigerian Association For Family Development (NAFAD) has made public the communique made at the 18th Biennial conference  themed: 'Marriage as a Vocation- Flourishing Despite Modern Challenges'. The communique which was issued on March 30, 2025 at the Bishop AK Obiefuna  Retreat and Pastoral Centre, Okpunor, Awka, Anambra State was signed by NAFAD National President, Mr. Uche Okpala and its National Secretary,  Mrs Tayo Akinyede. It was a gathering that brought together couples, relationship experts, and singles to explore practical ways to strengthen marriages and address contemporary relationship challenges. According to the communique the event emphasized that marriage is a sacred vocation—a call to total self-giving, sacrifice, and shared purpose in building resilient families. BOXING: GOLDEN BOY DEFEATED AZEEZ AYOBAMI YESTERDAY AT THE GOTV NIGHT,OGUN STATE. (PHOTOS).

Unbeaten Sodiq "Golden Boy" Oyakojo upsets hometown favorite Nigerian ranked number nine lightweight contender Azeez "Latest" Ayobami Saturday June 4, 2022 on GOTv night at Liberty Stadium by majority decession.  Oyakojo who was a last minute replacement displayed that he was a better boxer and improved his pro boxing record to (2-0) 1 KO.  Alaba "Elibow" Omotola also unbeaten with a pro boxing record of (3-0) 1KO  was the boxer scheduled to face Azeez "Latest" Ayomide but deal fail apart due to proper agreement.  Omotola is expected to return to the ring next month July 2, 2022 at Alake Sports Complex in Abeokuta Ogun State, Nigeria. This card is expected to bring many top boxers in the Country. Omotola was named one of the best boxers in the Country by GOTv in 2019. He has maintained his unbeaten record to date. As an ambassador of the Sports, Omotola is doing fund raising in Akure, Ondo State for the Motherless babies homes. This is a boxer we should all watch out for and he is very good for Nigeria boxing. International offers and interest are coming in for this young talented boxer.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
