 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. Soludo Swears-In Four New   Special Advisers. 



Governor Chukwuma Soludo has sworn-in four new special advisers. 

Governor Soludo performed the function at the twelfth Anambra State Executive Council meeting at the Executive Chambers, Government House, Awka.

Those sworn-in are Rt. Hon. Special Adviser, Legislative/State Assembly Matters, Rt Hon Anayo Nnebe; Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, Special Adviser, Political Matters; Dr. Godwin Nnadozie, Special Adviser, and Medicals and Pharmaceuticals and Barr. Raphael Asha Nnabuife, Special Adviser, Local Government Affairs.

They brings the total number of Special Advisers in Soludo's cabinet to eight.

The Swearing-in ceremony is in accordance with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria following their appointment by the Governor, last Friday.

Formally welcoming the Special Advisers, Governor Soludo said that their appointment is a call to duty with 'Project Anambra' in mind, stating that it is expected of members of ANSEC, to contribute in every way they can to make the state liveable and prosperous.

While calling on them to promote rendering of service above self, the Governor who stressed that the position they occupy is a competitive space, asked them to feel free to advice on anything that will help the advancement of the government of the day, expressing optimism that Anambra must win at the end.

The Solicitor General of the State performed the administration of the oath of office and oath of allegiance ceremony.
