 Guinea-Bissau stops vaccine study funded by Trump administration Guinea-Bissau's foreign minister has said his government has stopped a study funded by the Trump administration aiming to evaluate side effects of the life-saving hepatitis B vaccine, including any links to autism. The West African country, one of the region's poorest, has high rates of hepatitis B, and the prospective study had drawn an outcry from scientists and international health bodies because only half the newborns in the trial would get the vaccine at birth. World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus said it was not ethical. Guinea-Bissau last month suspended the trial pending an ethical review. Critics had said it was being used to test theories linking vaccines to autism, long promoted by U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr but contradicted by scientific evidence. UZODIMMA FELICITATES ARIWOOLA AS THE AG CJN


Imo State Governor Sen. Hope Uzodimma has extended his warm Felicitation to the Hon Justice Olukayode Ariwoola on his appointment and swearing in as the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria.

In a statement personally signed by him on Tuesday, the Governor noted that with more than 11 years at the Supreme Court and judicial experience that tranversed Lagos, Enugu and Kaduna Divisions of the Appeal Court, the new Chief Justice was "tailor-made for the job".

Uzodimma added that Nigerians were indeed looking forward to a more robust and responsive judiciary that will sustain the gains of democracy under the leadership of Justice Ariwoola.

The Governor said that the Government and people of Imo State wish the new Chief Judge a successful and fruitful tenure.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
