 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. Gunmen Attack Celestial Church, Abduct Two, Demand N50m Ransom In Ogun State 

Unknown gunmen on Tuesday attacked a celestial church in Wasimi, Ogun State and abducted two worshippers.

According to reports, the gun-wielding men approached Celestial Church of Christ, Oshofa Parish at Ewekoro local government area, a few minutes after midnight.

Confirming the unfortunate incident, Oluwatomisin Ehuwaojomo, the Shepherd of the church, said the two worshippers; Oluwaseun Ajose and Dagunro Ayobami were dragged away from the church.

He added that he was called later and a ransom of N50 million was demanded.

“When my Assistant Shepherd called me almost two hours after they left, the kidnappers refused to speak with me twice. But on his third attempt, they spoke with me and demanded N50 million ransom.

“I told them that, I am a servant of God, nobody pays me a salary. I have spoken with the Ogun State Commissioner of Police. The command is on the matter.”
