 Kwankwaso’s alleged return to APC triggers internal revolt in Kano The Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) appears to be divided over the possible return of former Kano State Governor and 2023 NNPP presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to the party. In a press conference held at the APC headquarters in Kano on Friday, the State Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, confirmed reports that Kwankwaso, who was recently expelled from the NNPP, is making moves to rejoin the APC. Abbas welcomed the development, describing it as a positive step. “We have received reports that the leader of the NNPP, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who was expelled from his party, is preparing to return to the APC. This is a welcome development—we are happy and pleased about it,” Abbas said. HAJJ 2022: OVER 500 FIRST SET OF ADAMAWA PILGRIMS AIRLIFTED 


Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Monday while addressing the first batch of intending Muslim Pilgrims to Saudi Arabia reminded them of the importance of religious obligation which requires them to adhere strictly to the teachings of Islam by the prophet Muhammad regarding the conduct of Hajj.

The Governor charged intending pilgrims to be good ambassadors of Adamawa State in the holy land.

He appeals to them to avoid getting involved in criminal activities such as drug trafficking and other vices which are capable of tarnishing the good image of the state and the nation at large.

He also reminded the intending pilgrims of the essential ingredients of a rewarding Hajj which is intention. And as a Muslims Muslim, they are expected to carry each other along and exhibit the spirit of togetherness and patriotism by assisting each other at all times

He equally asks them to pray for Adamawa and Nigeria at large.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
