 Man brutalises his pregnant wife in Anambra  In another case of domestic violence, a pregnant woman was brutally beaten by her husband in Ichi, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State. The mother of three identified as Chinelo Francis, from Ebonyi State, said trouble began when she requested money from her husband, Peter, to prepare food.  According to the young woman, she had already bought vegetable with the profit she made from her shop. Peter, also from Ebonyi, claimed he didn’t make money that day and took the children home.  He returned to her shop at around 8:00 PM and insisted she close up and come home with him.  She refused, explaining that the time was when she typically made most of her sales.  Later, she closed up her shop, went home at 9:30 PM, prepared the children for bed, and retired. Police Nab Man 34 For Smashing 3yr - Old Child To Death At Nkwele Ezunaka, Oyi Council Area 

The Anambra State Police Operatives yesterday arrested one Mr. Onwele Anayo aged thirty-four, on the murder of Divine Eze aged three, residing in Hillview Estate, Nkwelle -Ezunaka, Oyi Local Government Area.

 

In a release signed by the State’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu said that Preliminary information shows that the suspect visited the father of the victim on Wednesday fifteenth June 2022 and spent the night in the victim’s house, and in the early hours of yesterday, an argument ensued between the father and the suspect.

 

The suspect took the child as he was sleeping and killed him, by hitting him on the floor severally and carrying a knife from the room, pursuing the father around the house, threatening to kill him.

 

Police Operatives have visited the scene and recovered the body of the child and investigation is ongoing.

 

The police said that further development in the matter will be communicated to the public.
