 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. Police Nab Man 34 For Smashing 3yr - Old Child To Death At Nkwele Ezunaka, Oyi Council Area 

The Anambra State Police Operatives yesterday arrested one Mr. Onwele Anayo aged thirty-four, on the murder of Divine Eze aged three, residing in Hillview Estate, Nkwelle -Ezunaka, Oyi Local Government Area.

 

In a release signed by the State’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu said that Preliminary information shows that the suspect visited the father of the victim on Wednesday fifteenth June 2022 and spent the night in the victim’s house, and in the early hours of yesterday, an argument ensued between the father and the suspect.

 

The suspect took the child as he was sleeping and killed him, by hitting him on the floor severally and carrying a knife from the room, pursuing the father around the house, threatening to kill him.

 

Police Operatives have visited the scene and recovered the body of the child and investigation is ongoing.

 

The police said that further development in the matter will be communicated to the public.
