 Kwara Govt donates 150 off-road motorcycles to Nigerian Army •LGAs acquire 320 motorcycles to boost vigilantes' security operations  In a bid to further strengthen security operations and maintain peace across Kwara State, His Excellency Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led Kwara State Government has donated 150 off-road motorcycles to the Nigerian Army. The motorcycles are expected to enhance troops' mobility and effectiveness, particularly in rugged terrains such as forests, where non-state actors may be hiding with intent to destabilise the peaceful atmosphere of the state. Teachers' recruitment: Anambra disqualifies multiple applicants

Awka, June 10, 2022 (MOI) The Anambra State Government has disqualified applicants whose names appeared multiple times in the ongoing teachers' recruitment. 

The announcement was made on the website of the State's Ministry of Information, designed for the recruitment exercise. 

It reads, ``This is to inform the public that all applicants for the ongoing teachers' recruitment exercise with multiple entries have been disqualified in line with the earlier warning. Yet to be discovered multiple applicants will also be disqualified when discovered. 

``A list with the new identification numbers of eligible candidates for the examination, coming up on Saturday, 11th June 2022 at various CBT Centres, has been uploaded on our website."

Applicants are therefore by the message advised to visit only the state authorized website of: www.anambraministryofeducation.com/recruitment to check for their names, identification numbers, their centres/batches and other necessary information. (MOI)

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
