 Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Defies Kogi Government's Ban, Receives Heroic Welcome Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan was given a rousing homecoming by her supporters and residents of the Ihima community in Kogi State, despite the state government's ban on rallies and processions. The celebration, which kicked off as early as 8 a.m., saw supporters from the five local government areas of Kogi Central gather at the Ihima community of Okehi Local Government Area to welcome the lawmaker. Local musicians entertained the crowd while they awaited Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan's arrival. The embattled Senator made a grand entrance, arriving in a white helicopter, which elicited cheers and applause from her supporters. This homecoming celebration comes on the heels of the Kogi State Government's ban on rallies and public gatherings due to security concerns. TROOPS RECORDS ANOTHER SUCCESS AGAINST INSURGENTS 

Gallant Troops of 29 Brigade today Monday 6 June 2022 neutralized several BHT/ISWAP Terrorists who blocked Maiduguri-Damaturu Road in Goni Masari. After a hot pursuit, and guidance from the Nigerian Air Force several of the fleeing terrorists were neutralized. Arms and ammunitions including various assorted drugs and enhancers were recovered, the 5 victims abducted by the terrorists were also rescued.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
