 A Texas man is being charged with m*rder after he shot an armed home intruder who forced his way into his home. This alarming incident occurred on the evening of Friday, January 9th; in Big Springs, Texas.  On the night in question, the Big Springs Police Department responded to a home after receiving a 911 call. Upon their arrival, they were met outside by 43-year-old Joel Florez, pictured below. While questioning Florez, they learned that there was a gunshot victim inside of the home. When officers made their way into the home they discovered 36-year-old Phillip Lozano deceased from a gunshot wound. During the ensuing investigation, they learned Lozano had forced his way into the home while armed with a weapon. Once inside the home, Florez shot Lozano, causing a fatal injury.  For unknown reasons, officers determined there was probable cause to charge Joel Florez with homicide in the death of Philip Lozano. Abducted Kaduna Catholic Priest Regains Freedom

The Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, Kaduna State, has confirmed the release of Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Silas, barely 24 hours after he was abducted by some armed men.

Silas was kidnapped from the parish rectory at St. Charles Catholic Church in Zambina, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, in the early hours of Monday.

In a statement, the Chancellor of the Diocese, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Okolo, thanked everyone who offered prayers for the quick release of the priest.

“With hearts filled with joy, we raise our voices in a symphony of praises as we announce the return of our brother, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Silas.

“He was abducted by armed persons from the parish rectory at St. Charles Catholic Church, Zambina, in Kauru Local Government Area, in the early hours of Monday, July 4th 2022,” the statement read.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
