 Orji Uzor Kalu Vows Tinubu Will Win Abia in 2027 Election Former Abia State Governor and Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has declared that President Bola Tinubu will secure victory in Abia State during the 2027 presidential election. Speaking at an Abia APC stakeholders’ meeting he hosted at his private residence in Abuja on Thursday, Kalu expressed confidence in rebuilding the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to ensure a strong electoral performance. Kalu emphasized unity among party members, urging them to forgive past grievances and work together to strengthen the APC. “There is no faction in APC. I am committed to the rebuilding of the party and the overall unity of the APC in Abia State to support President Bola Tinubu in achieving his Renewed Hope agenda for the good of all Nigerians,” he said. *INSPECTOR-GENERAL OF POLICE FAMILY WELFARE INSURANCE SCHEME: 
CP ECHENG PRESENTS CHEQUES WORTH NINE MILLION, ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND NAIRA ONLY



The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, *CP Echeng Echeng*, today 19/7/2022 on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Baba Alkali, psc (+), fdc, NPM presented cheques worth Nine million one hundred thousand naira (#9,100,000) to fifteen (15) families of deceased Police officers attached to the Command.

The gesture is an initiative of the Inspector-General of Police *”IGP family welfare insurance scheme”* aimed at giving succour to the family of Police officers who died in active service. Also, the gesture is aimed at spurring officers’ to greatness while discharging their statutory duties with the assurance that, their welfare is of paramount importance to the Administration of the Force.

 The *CP* while presenting the cheques, to the beneficiaries thanked the Inspector-General of Police for his relentless efforts towards ensuring good welfare package for personnel of the Force and urged the beneficiaries to use the money wisely by investing in a profitable venture that will in turn, ameliorate the needs of the dependents left behind. The *CP* also assures the *IGP* that, Officers and men of the Command will continue to put in their best to ensure peace, security and safety of Anambra State.

He noted that, in the last 3 months, the Command had received similar cheques from the Inspector General of Police and it was presented to the beneficiaries.

The families thanked the Inspector-General of Police and pledge to make good use of the money.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
