 El-Rufai to remain in custody as court adjourns bail application to April 14 Justice Rilwanu Aikawa of a Federal High Court in Kaduna has adjourned the hearing of the bail application filed by former Kaduna State governor, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, to April 14th. The bail application of the former governor came up before the court today. April 1. The court adjourned the case after listening to arguments from both the defence and prosecution  El-Rufai was arraigned by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on a 10-count charge bordering on alleged conversion of public property and money laundering. He pleaded not guilty to all the charges. The court ordered that he remain in ICPC custody pending the hearing of his bail application on the fixed date. The former governor arrived at the court premises around 9:00 a.m. in a black Hilux vehicle, accompanied by DSS officials.

APC Northern Christian Task Simon Lalong On Action Against Muslim-Muslim Ticket

The leadership of the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria in the nineteen northern states of the country has voiced its displeasure over the emergence of the Muslim/Muslim presidential ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Describing the act as an insult to APC Christians in the north, it said the Plateau State governor, Simon Bako Lalong, who doubles as the chairman of the 19 northern states governors Forum must convene a meeting of all APC northern Christians.

The group which made the call in a press statement on Sunday said the meeting will enable the party’s Christian chieftains from the north chart a way forward, else they would see Lalongas as a puppet of the Hausa/Fulani oligarchy.”

Signed by its chairman, Musa D. Misal, they also called on the APC Christian northern politicians to take the path of honour and immediately resign their support for Tinubu and his running mate.

Vowing to resist in all legally possible ways the unnecessary provocation of the northern Christian people, they unanimously agreed to mobilize against any northern Christian who still sees a future in Tinubu/Kashim’s ticket.

 How Suspected Phone Snatchers Killed Army Lieutenant In Kaduna  An army officer identified as Lieutenant IM Abubakar has reportedly been hacked to death by a gang that specialises in phone snatching and other crimes. The deceased was killed in the Unguwan Sarki area of Kaduna metropolis during the week. A popular counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a Twitter post. Makama described Abubakar as a talented officer.  He said, “Lt IM Abubakar(Isa) A Young Talented Army Officer Was Killed By Phone Snatchers on His Way Home In Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna. May his soul rest in peace.”
