 Drones hit east Congo's biggest city, killing French aid worker, rebels and UN say Drone strikes hit Goma in east Congo ​on Wednesday, killing at least three people including a French aid worker, the ‌first such attack in the city since AFC/M23 rebels seized it last year, according to the group and the U.N. The AFC/M23 blamed the attack on the Congolese army, saying in a post on X that Kinshasa ​had launched drones against a densely populated urban area in the lakeside city. A senior official for U.N. children's agency UNICEF told Reuters ​that one of its employees, a French national, was killed. French President Emmanuel Macron and Hadja Lahbib, ​European Commissioner for equality, preparedness and crisis management, condemned the attack in posts on X, calling for respect for international humanitarian law and saying aid workers must never be targeted. APC Northern Christian Task Simon Lalong On Action Against Muslim-Muslim Ticket

The leadership of the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria in the nineteen northern states of the country has voiced its displeasure over the emergence of the Muslim/Muslim presidential ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Describing the act as an insult to APC Christians in the north, it said the Plateau State governor, Simon Bako Lalong, who doubles as the chairman of the 19 northern states governors Forum must convene a meeting of all APC northern Christians.

The group which made the call in a press statement on Sunday said the meeting will enable the party’s Christian chieftains from the north chart a way forward, else they would see Lalongas as a puppet of the Hausa/Fulani oligarchy.”

Signed by its chairman, Musa D. Misal, they also called on the APC Christian northern politicians to take the path of honour and immediately resign their support for Tinubu and his running mate.

Vowing to resist in all legally possible ways the unnecessary provocation of the northern Christian people, they unanimously agreed to mobilize against any northern Christian who still sees a future in Tinubu/Kashim’s ticket.
