President Tinubu meets Labour leaders over proposed protest: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met with the leadership of the NLC, along with the chairman of Progressive Governors Forum, Hope Uzodimma,  Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo and Governor of Kebbi State, Dr Nasir Idris and the Minister of State Labour, Honorable Nkeiruka Onyejeocha. The chairman of the NLC,Comrade Joe Ajaero led the Labour leaders to the meeting on Tuesday night at the State House, Abuja. ACCORDING TO ANOTHER SOURCE: President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday night held a meeting with the leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) as part of last-minute efforts to stop plans by the Labour union to embark on a strike action over the growing insecurity across the country. Last week, the congress declared a nationwide protest for December 17 over the “degenerating security situation” across the country. Appointing Caretaker Govt in Anambra LGAs Illegal, APC Tells Soludo

The All Progressives Congress, Anambra State chapter, has kicked against the continuous adoption and appointment of local government caretaker chairmen in Anambra State instead of conducting elections, ANAMBRA PEOPLE reports.

The party described the action as “illegal” and “provocative”, a move it said, started from the administrations of former governors Peter Obi and Willie Obiano.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Anambra State Publicity Secretary of APC, Okelo Madukaife, said caretaker governments are illegal and a clear constitutional violation, specifically on Section 7 of the 1999 Constitution, as amended.

Madukaife added that the state governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo will be held responsible in the event of any anarchy arising from the state government’s “white-eyed” challenge to the Nigerian Constitution.
