 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity. EFCC Secure 37 Internet Fraud Convictions in Enugu

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in two days, Tuesday July 19, 2022 and Thursday July 22, 2022, secured thirty seven (37) internet fraud convictions. The convictions were recorded by the Enugu Zonal Command before Justice I.M Buba of the Federal High Court sitting in Enugu.

The convicts are: Uchechukwu Ani, Nnamdi Ugwu, Ikechukwu Emmanuel Ebube, Chijioke Christian, Obaji Charles Imoke, Nwafor Victor Somkenechukwu,Chibuzor Okeke, Samuel Great, Ukandu Benedict, Augustine Akpos Austin, Chinwendu Okoh, Nnamdi Moses Tochukwu, Eze Onyebuchi Hillary, Emmanuel Alex Akwakolam, Chiemerie Samuel , Nwaojeh Emeka, Somtochi Collins Eze and Dike Emmanuel Chidiebere.

Others are: Chukwudi Okeke, Enete Ontekachi Gideon, Obeta Ifeanyi, Utoatuonu Osita, Ejiofor Okwuchukwu, Somtochuchukwu Promise Ezeanyagu, Ifeanyi Joseph Ikeh, Azuka Michael, Nnaemeka Ejebu, Edafe menford Odio, Emmanuel Chika Eneanya, Markanthony Emeka Akabuike, Chinemerem David Egwuatu, Arinze Maduka Samuel, Okeke Oluebube, Christian Ifesinachi Okoye, Awanya Jidechukwu, Ugwuagbo Stephen Nnaemeka and Obi Chinedu Edison.

They were prosecuted on separate one count charges bordering on criminal impersonation and obtaining money under false pretences

All the convicts pleaded guilty when the charges were read to them.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
