  Oshiomhole Convinced Us To Make Obaseki Governor – Philip Shaibu Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has disclosed that his choice to support his former boss, Godwin Obaseki, stemmed from his respect for Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Naija News, Shaibu shared his doubts about Obaseki during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program on Tuesday. Shaibu admitted that he lacked confidence in Obaseki's leadership even before they took office on November 12, 2016. He explained that despite his initial hesitations, he ultimately backed Obaseki out of respect and based on the assurances provided by Oshiomhole. He stated, “Obaseki is not a politician. English Teachers Hold Annual Workshop In Awka



The English Language Teachers Association of Nigeria, Anambra State Chapter is holding its annual workshop in Awka.

The teachers from primary and secondary schools, drawn from across Anambra state converged on the premises of Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board,ASUBEB, for the workshop.

In a paper presentation titled "Grammar Content in English Language Teaching in Contemporary Times",a retired Head of Department, Schools and Education Quality Assurance Department, Awka Zone,Mr Benson Ibe, proposed to the Association to take up the issue of the revision of grammar they present to students to be in line with prevailing global practice.

He also suggested that the association should set up a committee at the national level to do this and make recommendations to the government on English Language curriculum of the nation.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
