 PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS AMBASSADOR ENIKANOLAIYE ON HIS BIRTHDAY   President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, on his birthday.    A statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, indicates that the President describes Ambassador Enikanolaiye as a distinguished diplomat, accomplished administrator and dedicated public servant whose career reflects professionalism, patriotism and a deep commitment to Nigeria.   Ambassador Enikanolaiye served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from August 1982 to August 2017, rising through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary. FEMALE STUDENT ABDUCTED FROM HER HOSTEL IN CROSS RIVER.(PHOTO).

A female student of Arthur Jarvis University in Akpabuyo local government area of Cross River State has been abducted by gunmen. 

The student was abducted after the gunmen invaded the school's hostel around 8pm on Tuesday July 19. 

The Acting Registrar of the institution, Mrs.Ughas Ngozi said in a statement; 

 “Management is on top of events and the security agencies are in control of the situation. All students and staff are please requested to remain calm and go about their normal duties.”

The public are also warned to desist from circulating false information."

Multiple sources told The Nation that the incident occurred while students were returning from their night reading class.  Others who escaped from the attack sustained various degrees of injuries.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Irene Ugbo, said the Commissioner Of Police, Aminu Alhassan has deployed the anti- kidnapping, anti cultism and dragon units to forestall law and order and secure the kidnapped victim.
